A positive feeling creeps through the exhibitors and the several delegations of operators coming from Europe, Asia and America, validating the increasing international character of the exhibition. The metals production chain is growing fast on a global level due to the innovative application and technologies showcased in Verona
23rd June 2017– The activities connected with the world of aluminium, innovative metals and foundry is reporting a trend reversal due to an increasing international character. Metef, reference show for the sector in Italy under way until tomorrow at Veronafiere, has recorded an increase by 26% over the 2014 edition for what concerns foreign visitors. The trading delegations from traditionally industrialized countries (the United States, Germany, France and Sprain), from markets where technical and production capacities are fast growing (Turkey, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Brazil, Mexico and Argentina) and from countries that are major producers of raw materials (India, Russia, Iran, etc.) played the lion’s share. Metef 2017, organized by Veronafiere and Alfin-Edimet, is at last recording a trend reversal in the reference sector: this year it has been a comprehensive event for the entire European production chain – casting foundry, diecasting, extrusion and rolling – and is showing positive trends for the light metal market development, in particular for innovative applications in the major divisions such as automotive, railway and aerospace.
“With this third edition of Metef in Verona, our show becomes a real instrument for the international promotion of Made-in-Italy products even in the metals and foundry sector,” remarks Claudio Valente, Vice-President of Veronafiere S.p.A. “It’s a division representing many of the excellent and innovative realities of our manufacturing fabric. In this moment of slow recovery from a long crisis, exhibitions prove once again to be an essential ally for a country’s economic system and for the companies.”
“There’s no doubt that many sectors of the production chain that Metef represents have started again to feel confident: many deep changes have occurred over the last years as for metals foundry, aluminium processing, company digitalization, etc. This exhibitions has recorded the major positive trends under way reflected by the companies’ enthusiasm, the quality of the products on display, the high level of the siding events and the large increase of visitors, especially foreign ones,” declared Mario Conserva, President of Metef.
The eleventh edition of Metef has offered a top-level cultural and technical benchmark. International experts and speakers followed one another on the stage and presented the scientific and technological state of the art of the aluminium and most advanced metal alloy applications. Among the most important international meetings were the Aluminium 2000-Iceb Congress, the Faro Club Opening Conference, the Anfia automotive workshop, the Nadca focus meeting on the US diecasting sector, the institutional dialogue on the future of aluminium promoted by Centroal and AFFG, and the forum on the trade exchanges between Italy and India.
