From 11th to 13th June, Verona is the crossroads for international firms, delegations and decision makers to share their experiences and bring nourishment to the sector in terms of innovation.

We are few weeks away before METEF 2014 starts: this is going to be an international event as the result of actions and initiatives promoted over the last few months in order to enhance the cosmopolitan character of the exhibition. The first positive note is about foreign exhibitors, who have reached a 30% share of the total. METEF 2014 international character is a key element to keep the show at the same level with the other exhibitions in this sector held all over the world and promotes economic development and innovation.

Delegations of decisions makers, designers and purchase managers from Turkey, Serbia, Balkan Countries, Switzerland, Hungary, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, South America, Ukraine, Poland, USA, Mexico, Korea, Sweden, Iran, Iraq, Germany, Russia and the former Russian provinces are expected to visit the exhibition.

Another strategic focus of the show is dedicated to the relationships with the Gulf Countries, a fast developing area as for primary metal production and downstream processing, which offers interesting chances to start technological and trading exchanges from raw materials to production processes and finished products in key sectors such as building and means of transport. Internationalization is more and more the priority of METEF.

With the aim to create real synergies, Veronafiere and its network of delegations in 60 foreign countries all over the world will offer advanced Trade Matching services (B2B meetings) to make the exhibitors meet the most qualified accredited customers. One of the keys to METEF success is the support granted by Veronafiere, ensuring the internationalization of the event, and by Alfin Edimet Spa, offering its twenty-year long know-how of international technical events in the sector of metals and related production chains, of inter-association connections and of sector technical media.

In this situation very open to the world, METEF 2014 presents for the first time its “exhibition chain” concept, where the show layout combines several events: METEF (aluminium technologies and processes), FOUNDEQ (now at it 7th edition and focussed on the ferrous and non-ferrous metals foundry), METALRICILO-RECOMAT (for the 6th time dedicated to recovery and recycling, energy and environmental efficiency) and ALUMOTIVE (the new show on innovative solutions for original equipment, components and technological materials for the transport industry).

The first ALUMOTIVE will debut with important designers, technicians and decision makers from the leading European producers of vehicles, parts and finished components for the automotive industry such as: Georg Fischer (+GF+), partner for the development and production of light cast parts and systems made of ductile cast iron, aluminium and magnesium for the global automotive industry and for a wide range of industrial applications; Martinrea Honsel, one of the world’s leading providers of light alloy parts for the automotive sector; Trimet, maker of aluminium alloy high-quality diecastings and assembled parts for the automotive market.
ALUMOTIVE will also welcome Prof. Martin Fehlbier, Director of the Foundry Institute at the Kassel University, where the chair of Foundry Technologies was established in October 2012 which was promoted by Volkswagen to enable the education of top-level foundry engineers trained in all the necessary theoretical and practical aspects for the designing and production of light alloy structural castings.
Assured is the participation of the prestigious Fiat Research Centre from Orbassano and the support of the ATA, Association of Automobile Technology.
