METEF CHOOSES 2022 AND CONFIRMS BOLOGNAFIERE
Metef, the exhibition dedicated to aluminum that this year should have been held from June 10 to 12 at Bolognafiere moves to 2022 from June 9 to 11. "The well-known governmental measures against Covid 19 - explains Metef's president, Mario Conserva - have led us to the decision to wait one more year to return with one of the most important events in Europe dedicated to aluminum and give this expo all the space it deserves. We owe it to the many companies, mostly SMEs that contribute, with their commitment and their experience, to the enhancement of aluminum, a material that has done its part in a difficult year like 2020, and that has important opportunities for development and growth as a true protagonist material. The green transition that Europe rightly places at the center of attention can not ignore this metal that is a champion of sustainability. Two events will be dedicated to the great challenges of this metal during the month of June.
On June 10, there was an online round table on "The role of aluminum in the decade of the Green Deal" organized by Centroal of Assomet with the collaboration of Metef: this is the central event of Centroal's Aluminum for Future Generations (AFFG) program, which aims to disseminate among institutions, non-governmental organizations and the media the proposals of this industry in relation to the policies of environmental sustainability, energy saving and recyclability.
"This event was supposed to take place during METEF 2021, it was forced to postpone the fair, but the roundtable was a good choice of Centroal: it is the right time to emphasize the importance of recycling and major innovations in primary metal productions to make people understand that aluminum is the metal symbol of the green transition," comments Conserva. An event of great importance, included within "All4climate Italy2021", the official program of the Ministry of Ecological Transition of events to approach COP26, the United Nations Climate Change Conference that this year Italy is co-chairing.

FIRST ITALIAN - RUSSIAN ALUMINIUM FORUM
On June 24 and 25, there will be the first Italian-Russian Aluminium Forum, organized by METEF together with the Russian Aluminium Association RAA, with the participation of the main Italian trade associations related to light metal in Italy, institutions and companies. Realized with the aim of developing collaborations and technical exchanges to make synergies and knowledge transfer, the event, which will be held online, will be a moment of discussion between stakeholders, institutions and experts to talk about aluminum as a material of the future and new ways of cooperation between Russia, one of the main suppliers of primary aluminum with low carbon emissions, and Italy, the second country in Europe after Germany in terms of production, processing and uses of aluminum and its alloys.
