Polish Foundrymen’s Association

80th Anniversary

Polish Foundrymen’s Association is a voluntary, non-governmental organisation associating engineers and technicians working in Polish foundry industry and foundry institutions. At present it has 17 units in Poland, about 1000 members (engineers, technicians) and 40 supporting members. It is a founder – member of WFO and editor of the only scientific-technical foundry journal Foundry Review (Przegląd Odlewnictwa). Polish Foundrymen’s Association was established in 1936.
This year the association celebrated his 80th Anniversary. The Jubilee was organized under Honorary Patronage of the Ministry of Economy, President of Krakow, and Wojewoda of Lesser Poland on 9th December in Krakow.  It started with technical conference entitled “Innovation techniques in casting production” and finished with gala dinner. More than 200 guests, mainly representatives of Polish foundry industry and institutions, took part in the celebration. Among the guests there were representatives of Polish Federation of Engineering Association (NOT), World Foundry Organisation, Foundry Research Institute, Faculty of Foundry Engineering AGH, Slovenian Foundrymen Society, Poznań International Fair (MTP), the Kielce Trade Fairs, Metef.
In 2018 Polish Foundrymen’s Association will be the organizer of the 73rd World Foundry Congress.
