Your company participates in METEF. Can you tell us why you chose to be present?
Metef has rightfully established itself as the benchmark event for the aluminium industry in Italy, thanks to its ability to bring together the leading players in both the national and international market. What innovations will you present at the fair? What kind of benefits do they bring to operators in the sector?
At Cortizo, we have been recycling aluminium in our own foundries for over 30 years, committed to the recovery of a material that can be recycled infinitely without any loss of its properties. We have been able to extrude profiles from second smelting billets produced in our facilities for over three decades. And now, we have taken yet another step further, with a large recycling plant capable of recovering up to 100,000 annual tonnes of post-consumer scrap. This way, we are reducing the energy consumption and carbon footprint of our profiles and, by extension, of the products manufactured from this recycled billet.
We are a multinational that stands out for performing the entire production cycle (foundry, extrusion, powder coating, anodising, machining, bending, customised packaging and distribution), offering high-value-added aluminium solutions for industrial sectors focused on sustainability and carbon footprint reduction. In addition, we have a global annual production capacity of 150,000 tonnes, thanks to 9 production centres strategically located in Spain, France, Poland and Slovakia, which allow us to promptly meet the demand of our clients in 86 countries across five continents.
