METEF 2021 NEWS
NEW STRUCTURE, NEW LOCATION AND NEW ALLIANCES
TO PROMOTE ALUMINIUM AS WELL AS
THE COMPETITIVENESS AND ECO-SUSTAINABILITY OF
THE ADVANCED MANUFACTURING SECTOR
BOLOGNAFIERE AND VERONAFIERE JOINT FORCES FOR ALUMINIUM AND THE MANUFACTURING SECTOR
Aluminium is the material for the future, its importance will dramatically grow in the manufacturing industry because it plays a leading role in the ranking of environmental values: it’s sustainable, 100% recyclable, has no environmental impact and its properties make cars and transport means lightweight, solve the food preservation issue, transmit energy and improve building energy efficiency.
For this reason Veronafiere and Bolognafiere, two of the leading exhibition centres in Italy, have established METEF, a 50-50 joint venture aiming at globally promoting the strategic sector of metalworking and advanced manufacturing – from automotive and transportation to building and mechanics – which is tightly connected with aluminium, a versatile, sustainable and environmentally-friendly material, the symbol of circular economy and a milestone of no matter what industrial development.
Metef new location is Bolognafiere, exhibition centre that is at the crossroads of the Italian domestic manufacturing and metalworking industry, fully equipped with infrastructures, easily reached by the means of transport and very appreciated abroad. This centre houses the top-tier companies of the Italian automotive industry with luxury brands such as Ducati, Ferrari and Lamborghini.
NEW METEF-MECSPE ALLIANCE
Metef will take place along with MecSpe, reference exhibition for the manufacturing industry and for the smart factory project, for the first time in Bologna in 2021. The two exhibitions will be held in different halls in order for each of them to retain their distinctive identity but they will be allied to generate synergies and reach shared targets. The strategy adopted is to ensure a strong alliance between these two events that are well-known and appreciated in their respective markets and to offer a complementary and complete range of products.
Metef new structure strengthens the exhibition distinct international value: the 2017 show reported 35% of foreign exhibitors and 40% of foreign visitors coming from 63 countries, with a 26% resulting growth over the previous edition.
