“METEF returns to focus on its role as a national and international driving force to assist SME in the aluminium sector, which make up about 95% of the workforce and over 70% of the turnover of the industry in the European Union. From Bologna, the new edition of METEF will be projected onto the international scenario and will have to bring together all the players in the supply chain, both national and international, to set up the priorities of this sector. And it will do so by being able to count on the concomitance with the main exhibition for the manufacturing industry, MECSPE, which for years has been a reference point for entrepreneurs who want to innovate production processes.”
“Italy has for years been one of the leading countries in the field of die casting. So we thought the time has come to set up a project to promote this excellence, through the establishment of an ‘all-Italian’ award for innovative and/or sustainable castings.
The particularity of this award, compared to those already existing in Europe or the USA, lies in the involvement of all the most important national associations linked to the foundry sector, with the support of the major national partners committed to the spread of the “culture of die casting”.
In short, a joint recognition that has no equal and therefore defines its high value.
In order to give the winners the right visibility, also on an international level, the award ceremony will take place at the Metef fair in June, where a special event will be organised to award what we hope will be the first of a long series of “Italian Die Casting Awards”.
“Metef was the first exhibition in the world that grasped the extraordinary development capabilities of aluminium – says Riccardo Ferrario, president of AMAFOND – it is no coincidence that it was born in Italy, which has always been a world leader in materials, technologies and uses of light metal and its alloys. It is for this reason that as AMAFOND, the Italian association of manufacturers of machinery, plants, equipment and products for the foundry industry, we have always participated and supported Metef in all phases of growth and development, starting from the first edition of the fair in 1997. Even more so, we have given our support to the forthcoming Metef 2022 in Bologna, together with Mecspe. Light metal has in fact acquired exceptional importance worldwide among materials for all kinds of applications, both because of its eco-sustainability and because of its strong spread in important segments of industry and economy such as automotive, construction and packaging. The Italian manufacturing industry, the second largest in Europe after Germany, is very connected to and dependent on aluminium, which is why we support a major international trade fair on the sector like Metef.”
“The participation at METEF represents a fixed appointment for SIM which, thanks to this international exhibition, has always started profitable collaborations with targeted customers.
Moreover, the synergy with MECSPE will represent a new strong point, useful to present at its best the whole industrial chain to the world of metals and not only.
Let us then consider the green turn which, as well as being up-to-date, is very decisive: operating in electric heating, SIM is increasingly involved in both new projects and modernisations, where it is asked to develop electric solutions as an alternative to the more conventional combustion ones.
In the last two years, in fact, SIM has been commissioned by leading international companies in projects aimed at electrical use at very high temperatures. Among the most important are:
– Construction of the world’s first line for soaking steel billets, with continuous conduction at 1250°C;
– Design and development of the first system for producing hydrogen by means of electric heating;
– Design and development of the world’s first system for maintaining temperatures by means of electrically heated silica sand in a “fluid bed” to store electrical energy;
– The world’s first fully electric “rolling mill” line is currently being built to maintain temperature during all six phases of steel bloom processing.”
“METEF + IMAS AEROMECCANICA are a perfect match at a time when casting techniques are evolving and the need to reduce the industrial impact on the environment is becoming increasingly pressing. Metef gives us the opportunity, after several years, to take benefit of a unique stage in Italy.
Our experience gained in the construction of plants for the foundry sector allows us to boast numerous references operating in different production sectors:
– PRESSURE CASTING (aluminium, zamak, etc.)
– SAND FOUNDRIES
– SHELL FOUNDRIES
– METAL REFINERIES
– DEGASSING WAITING
– SAND CASTING
– SAND CORE MANUFACTURING
Our Extraction Systems guarantee the abatement of fumes, aerosols and dust coming from the processing of die-casting machines of different tonnages, melting and holding furnaces of various types and sizes in casting and slagging operations; carousels, catenaries and casting lines, detachers.
Our range includes Dedusters and Scrubbers suitable for processing pollutants in any form (oil mists, dust and odours): from the M23-M30 Series Dedusters to the Oiljet Series Scrubbers (suitable for aluminium die-casting for example), to the activated carbon Carbocubes and Cyclones for detoxifying furnace fumes.
Our filter range also includes machines designed and manufactured to cope with high temperature processing.”
“Once again the organizers of the next edition of Metef give us the opportunity to participate in this important event by giving us a space dedicated to our Association and our Members.
We are particularly pleased with the formula that has been proposed to us which will translate into a sort of “AITAL VILLAGE”, a personalized exhibition area, dedicated to members and where we will be able to exhibit topics of interest to the fair public (and not only). the Associated Companies.
We also thank the Organizers for the various advantages that are offered to AITAL and to the Associates who will occupy part of the “Village.”
“Since my father and mother founded Novellini in 1966, quality has been at the core of our mind-set and production philosophy. Our foundry was installed 17 years ago, a time when the level of technology was growing and we have remained loyal to this philosophy.
The creation of novALmec has led to the expansion of our production capacity to 33,000 tonnes/year which, together with the sustainability of our processes and the experience and high professionalism of our people, make our foundry a state-of-the-art production site.
NovALmec will be exhibiting at the next edition of METEF with some samples of its production, demonstrating the evolution of the company culture, which is flexible and customer-oriented striving for the most cutting-edge and environmentally sustainable solutions. We are sure that our participation, thanks to the international showcase of METEF, will allow us to start profitable collaborations”
